Release notes

What changes in the game, version after version. The notes come from the live game itself: this page is up to date as soon as a version ships.

  8. v0.89.2.3

    • InterfaceThe game now loads over an illustration with the Astra Genesis logo, and the browser tab shows the game's icon.
    • InterfaceFixed the double dot shown between the version number and your name at the top of the screen.
  9. v0.89.2.2

    • FixThe starry sky is no longer drawn behind the scenery that hides it, and the pulses of the guide and of the current tier are more efficient. On a large screen, the game asks about half as much of your computer.
  10. v0.89.2.1

    • FixAnimations that kept running out of sight, behind the login screen or in closed screens, now stop. The login screen barely uses your processor anymore.
  11. v0.89.2

    • TechnicalBehind-the-scenes technical work. Nothing changes in your game.
  12. v0.89.1.1

    • InterfaceThe login screen has new artwork and now shows the game's logo, sharp up to 4K screens.
  13. v0.89.1

    • TechnicalBehind-the-scenes technical work. Nothing changes in your game.
  14. v0.89.0.1

    • InterfaceIn English, the Directorate tier a technology needs now reads “Directorate tier” and no longer looks like the technology’s own tier.
    • InterfaceThe technology details badge reads “Tier 1” instead of “Level tier 1”.
  15. v0.89.0

    • NewThe English translation is complete: screens, help, game content and server messages.
    • NewThe last texts still in French, the defense postures in the Hangar and the combat simulator, are now translated.
    • NewPick the language on the sign-in screen or in the Settings; it follows your account from one device to another.
  16. v0.88.4.1

    • TechnicalChanging the language in game copes better with an unstable connection. Nothing changes in your game.
  17. v0.88.4

    • NewYou can play in English: pick the language on the sign-in screen or in the Settings.
    • NewThe game starts straight in your account’s language, or in your browser’s language in guest mode.
    • NewIn game, changing the language reloads after you confirm. Hovering a tier on the timeline shows its full name.
  18. v0.88.3

    • InterfaceThe incursion countdown uses a short format (T-25h18m) and is no longer cut off on small screens.
    • InterfaceTechnology effects now agree in number: +1 workforce slot, +2 workforce slots.
    • InterfaceA few resource and tier descriptions were proofread.
  19. v0.88.2

    • InterfaceNumbers now agree with their nouns wherever they show: 1 message, 2 messages.
    • InterfaceThe control center title and the sector code on expedition cards are no longer cut off on small screens.
    • InterfaceThe tooltip of a locked building category shows again the name of the phase that opens it.
  20. v0.88.1

    • TechnicalThe game loads a little faster. Nothing changes in your game.
  21. v0.88.0

    • NewThe tutorial follows a new order: you learn to sell at the NPC Counter right after your two factories, before hiring a technician, and you scan a system before building your defenses. The “second power source” step becomes “Upgrade your Champ solaire”.
    • NewThe guide now brings the place to act into view, helps you in the Workforce window (who to hire, when to close it) and tells you when a build or a probe is already under way. The “Phase complete” card closes with a click.
    • NewA greyed-out Hire button says why, the candidate list fills up right after your first hire, and the Compass explains the Scrip deficit warning of the early game. A tutorial in progress picks up where your colony stands; if it is finished or skipped, nothing changes for you.
  22. v0.87.1.1

    • FixThe first phase of the tutorial now ends with a fifth step: assigning a miner to the mine and the extractor. With nobody on site, these two buildings were built but produced nothing.
    • FixThe bubble points to the Assign button on each card, then to the person to pick.
    • FixA game that is already past the first phase is not affected and does not go back.
  23. v0.87.1

    • NewThe tutorial now covers the whole game loop, in eight phases: first buildings, factories, power and staff, research, trade, expedition, defense, then your first scan of a system.
    • NewA new panel, the Compass, shows the current objective and why it matters. A bubble sits where you need to act, and every finished phase is celebrated. No rush: there is no timer, and “Skip the tutorial” stays available at all times.
    • NewIf you had already finished or skipped the tutorial, nothing changes for you. If it was in progress, it picks up where your colony stands and never asks again for what is already done. Fix: closing a tier celebration with the Escape key no longer stops the next ones from showing.
  24. v0.87.0.2

    • InterfaceTerminating a contract, dismissing a worker, demolishing a building, cancelling a construction or a production: the question now appears in a game window instead of a browser pop-up.
    • InterfaceThat window tells you what you lose before you confirm: the Scrip cost of a dismissal, the share refunded by a cancellation.
    • InterfaceAt the Counter, a large sale or purchase shows its total before you confirm it.
  25. v0.87.0.1

    • FixAfter a name change, the top of the screen kept showing the old one until the next sign-in. It now updates the moment the game loads.
    • FixOn the Alliance screen, the banners and frames on offer now fill the full width of their panel on large screens, instead of leaving a gap on the right.
  26. v0.87.0

    • NewAlliances are complete. You can found one or join one, by application or by invitation, hold a role in it (leader, officer or member), follow its activity and leave it freely.
    • NewEvery alliance has a treasury, filled by the voluntary gifts of its members. It pays for announcements, a change of name or tag, and the banner and frame the alliance wears.
    • NewNothing is mandatory: the whole game stays playable solo, and an alliance gives no gameplay bonus. This version adds nothing new: it marks the end of this work.
  27. v0.86.6

    • NewAn alliance can now wear a banner, shown behind its name, and a frame around its emblem. Four banners and four frames are offered in a new panel of the Alliance screen's overview, which every member can browse.
    • NewThey are paid for with the Scrip of the alliance treasury: 1,500 Scrip for a banner, 1,000 for a frame. The leader buys and chooses what the alliance wears; changing the banner or the frame, or removing them, costs nothing. A purchase is not refunded.
    • NewA look, nothing more: a banner or a frame gives no gameplay bonus. They also show on the alliance card and in the list of recruiting alliances.
  28. v0.86.5

    • NewEvery alliance now has a treasury in Scrip, in a new tab of the Alliance screen. Any member can give Scrip from their wallet. A gift is voluntary and final: it cannot be taken back and earns nothing. The treasury produces nothing, and an alliance still gives no gameplay bonus.
    • NewThe treasury pays for two services. The leader and the officers can publish an announcement (100 Scrip, one per 24 hours): every member reads it at the top of the overview. The leader can change the name (500 Scrip) or the tag (1,000 Scrip) of the alliance.
    • NewThe Treasury tab shows the balance and the last 200 movements: who gave, what was spent, and on which day. If an alliance is disbanded, the Scrip in its treasury is lost.
  29. v0.86.4

    • NewThe Alliance screen now shows your alliance's activity: arrivals, departures, roles, leadership handed over, applications opened or closed. The ten latest lines appear in the overview, and "View all" opens everything the alliance keeps (up to 200 lines).
    • NewWithout an alliance, a list shows the alliances that have opened applications, with an "Apply" button. In an alliance, click a member's name to open their card: public profile, role, member number and arrival date. A private profile shows only the name, even to allies.
    • NewThe leader can change the alliance's motto and emblem; the name and tag stay as they are. An alliance still gives no in-game bonus.
  30. v0.86.3.1

    • InterfaceThe Alliance, Market and Profile screens now each have their own backdrop.
  31. v0.86.3

    • NewAn alliance now holds up to 20 members. To join one, look up its tag from the Alliance screen and apply if it has opened applications, or accept an invitation. You can leave whenever you want.
    • NewThe leader opens or closes applications, appoints officers, hands over leadership and can remove a member. Leader and officers answer applications and invite a player from their public profile, if they said they are open to alliances.
    • NewThe member list shows who is online, was here today, this week, or is on vacation. The leaderboard shows each player's alliance tag, and the apostrophe is accepted in an alliance name. An alliance still gives no game bonus.
  32. v0.86.2

    • NewNew Alliance screen, between Map and Market. You can found an alliance, for free: a name, a tag of 2 to 5 characters, an emblem made from 12 icons and 5 colours, and a motto if you like.
    • NewFor now, an alliance only holds its founder, and it changes nothing in your game: no resources, no production, no protection. You can disband it whenever you want.
    • NewThe server-move message on the sign-in screen has been removed. So has the Alliances tab of the leaderboard, which had stayed empty.
  33. v0.86.1

    • InterfaceThe “New game server” window, shown when entering the game since the server move in late September, has been removed: it had served its purpose.
  34. v0.86.0

    • NewThe Profile & settings screen is complete. Profile side: your introduction, your real game numbers, the choice to show your profile to other players or not, and a flag to say you are open to alliance offers. Settings side: everything is sorted by category and saved to your account, so it follows you from one device to the next.
    • NewVacation mode protects your colonies while you are away: no new incursion, no raid from another player, and everything runs at half speed, production and spending alike. Your game becomes read-only for at least 48 hours.
    • NewThe Profile tab also shows the appearance items (portrait frame, title, banner, profile background) with their price in Scrip, the currency earned by playing. It is a showcase: nothing is for sale, and nothing can be bought there.
  35. v0.85.6

    • InterfaceThe Profile tab now shows the interface theme, free for everyone, and four appearance slots: portrait frame, title, banner and profile background.
    • InterfaceEach slot shows a base price in Scrip, the currency earned by playing. Nothing is for sale: the showcase is for looking only, and these prices may still change.
  36. v0.85.5

    • NewAway for a few days? Vacation mode protects your colonies: no new incursion, and no other player can launch a raid on you. In exchange, everything runs at half speed: production, factory consumption, wages and Trading Post contracts.
    • NewWhile you are on vacation, your game is read-only: whatever is already under way finishes, but nothing new can be started. A vacation lasts at least 48 hours, and when you come back every threat starts over on a fresh delay.
    • NewVacation mode is in Profile & settings, Settings tab, Gameplay category. Whatever was already announced or already launched against you when you left still arrives.
  37. v0.85.4

    • NewThe Profile & settings screen gets a Profile tab: a few words about yourself, your numbers (tier, colonies, completed expeditions, unlocked research, account age) and the choice to show your profile to other players or keep it private.
    • NewIn the leaderboard, click a player to open their profile, if they left it public.
    • NewYou can also flag that you are open to alliance offers. Alliances are not in the game yet: for now, this choice shows on your profile and does nothing else.
  38. v0.85.3

    • NewThe Profile screen becomes "Profile & settings": settings are grouped by category (interface, audio, notifications, accessibility, gameplay, account), each with an explanation of what it changes.
    • NewNew settings: notification sound volume and on-screen message duration. High contrast, which did nothing before, now brightens secondary text and strengthens borders.
    • TechnicalSettings are saved and, with an account, follow you from one device to the next. In guest mode, they stay on your device.
    • InterfaceVacation mode leaves the screen: its switch did nothing. It will come back with real rules.
  39. v0.85.2

    • InterfaceThe strip showing running queues (construction, research, expedition) no longer covers the bottom of the panels: screens now leave room for it, and it is hidden on the Planet view, which already shows those queues.
    • FixA few in-game messages referred to internal team documents: they are now worded more simply.
  40. v0.85.1

    • InterfaceThe in-game update history is easier to read: older versions are grouped by tens with a short summary, and the "Next priority" line is gone.
  41. v0.53 - v0.85

    • Newv0.53 to v0.59: the Hangar is redesigned and its Shipyard builds real ships and real defences. The Map becomes the heart of the game, with a galaxy to explore, probes, colonisation and combat. Player raids arrive, with their protections.
    • Interfacev0.60 to v0.69: the Planet, Buildings and Factories screens are rebuilt around your colony's landscape. Quests and Expeditions become two screens, with achievements and a colony leaderboard. Day, night and weather bring the colony to life.
    • Newv0.70 to v0.79: each colony has its own stock, buildings and workers, and Scrip becomes a shared wallet. A Control Centre gathers threats, defence and messages. The Market gets a new look. Safer sign-in and a faster start.
    • Technicalv0.80 to v0.85: the game moves to our own server, and your save is carried over as it was. Password change from the Profile, faster raid alerts. The rest is tooling for the team, with no effect on your save.
  42. v0.52.2

    • BalanceExpeditions finally return Science. The "land" roll gives Data six times out of ten, and Plate the rest of the time.
    • FixThe Laboratory and the Xenolab produced zero Science even when staffed. Fixed on both sides, client and server.
  43. v0.52.0

    • InterfaceResearch screen fully rebuilt: sticky queue, eight colour-coded branches, vertical tree.
    • NewThe tier X doctrine choice now goes through a double confirmation. It stays permanent, but it can no longer be triggered by accident.
  44. v0.50.0

    • NewThe Quests and Project Direction screens are now one. The campaign sits on top, the expedition log underneath.
    • TechnicalOld links to the Direction screen redirect, so nothing breaks in a save already in progress.
  45. v0.47.0

    • NewThe Factories screen arrives: the full production-chain graph, with per-factory throughput and priority.
    • ContentAlternative recipes unlocked by research, in four branches out of eight.
