Frequently asked questions
The questions that keep coming up, with answers that do not dodge.
Who makes Astra Genesis?
One person: Gaetan, also known as Reewen. No studio, no team, no publisher. The code, the design, the balance and this website come out of the same pair of hands, outside working hours.
When does it come out?
I do not know, and announcing a date I cannot keep would be the surest way to disappoint you. Development is tracked tier by tier on the game page and week by week on the devlog. The wishlist and the newsletter tell you the moment a date actually exists.
Which platforms?
The stores being aimed at are listed on the Platforms page.
Will the game come to console?
Console versions are not planned for now.
How much will it cost?
The price is not set. What is decided: a one-off purchase rather than a subscription, and no gameplay advantage for sale. If a shop ever exists, it will sell cosmetics.
Will there be early access?
Probably, starting with closed tests announced on the Discord and the newsletter. Paid early access will only open on the day a full playthrough holds together from start to finish, not before.
Which languages?
French and English are the two languages treated seriously, in the game and on this site. Eight more are prepared technically but not translated yet, here or in the game. They will be done when they can be done properly, not run through a machine.
Can the game be modded?
Not yet, and not for a long while. The game data is already separated from the engine, which makes mod support technically conceivable later, but it is not an open project in version 1.
Can I play the game on this site?
No. This site is the shop window; the game runs on its own domain. An address is reserved here to embed it later, when a public version is ready.
Is my data sold on?
No. This site uses no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker. Newsletter addresses stay with me and are used only to send it. The detail is on the legal page.
How can I help?
Join the Discord and say what is wrong when you test. One precise report from an attentive player is worth more than another share.
